Bleachers can be dangerous when trying to accommodate large crowds at a sports event or school. Portable bleachers with guardrails and optional foot boards and risers dramatically reduce injuries. The standard guardrails as pictured are built with 1/2-inch vertical rod welded to 1-5/8-inch top and bottom rails. For safety purposes, the distance of the welds assures that a 4-inch sphere will not pass between them. For additional safety, a second foot board with a riser beneath the seats can be added to provide increased safety. The Guardrail Safety Bleachers come with an aluminum or galvanized steel frame. The 2 inch by 10 inch aluminum seat planks come with an anodized finish and mill finish on the foot boards. These bleachers meet the requirements of the following building codes: BOCA, UBC, IBC, and Southern Building Code. Depending on your local codes, extra foot boards (double foot boards) may be required on bleachers higher than 30 inches.
